July 5th - Indian River Snook
|
My son Colton is 8 years old and, as you may expect, caught quite a few fish for his young age. He recently let me know that he has never caught a Snook and that was his next target. Today, the mission was for Colton to land his first Snook. We set up the senario, by catching some small finger mullet, rigging with 40lb leader and off to a local spot that I know holds Snook this time of the year. Once the boat was positioned, Colton tossed his bait in the area where I told him the Snook would be.....seconds later...FISH ON!
The Snook put up a good fight, almost breaking free on a couple of dock pilings, but soon came to the boat for a quick photo and release.
Colton did a good job of fighting this fish amongest the structure. He said it's the hardest fighting fish he ever caught. I think he likes catching Snook now!
The fish are biting....Let's Go Fishing! 321-259-9015 |
