Mosquito Lagoon Trout!
|
Took to the waters of Mosquito Lagoon early this morning with Don from New Hampshire (said with an accent). He was down visiting for the week and wanted to catch some fish.
Don, being the Trout fisherman that he is, was able to land this beautiful Speckled Trout! Great Job Don!
Don got the full experience, as we saw all kinds of wildlife, to include: Alligator, Racoon, Dolphin, Osprey, and a few Manatees as well.

Sightcasting to Redfish!
|
I really got to enjoy being on the water today! My best fishing partner (my son Colton), and I took to the water bright and early. We threw his favorite lure the "Chug Bug" for the first part of the day with only a few strikes.
As the sun came up, we could see in the water and searching for Redfish was in order. After a couple of location changes, we finally found what we were looking for....REDFISH. At this stop, we were afforded many chances and the opportunities paided off...multiple times!
Colton displays the first Redfish of the day!
Another Red with beautiful spots!
I even got to fish and caught a Redfish of my own!
A truely wonderful day on the water for me and my son!

Indian River Redfish and Trout!
|
Today, Rob from California climbed aboard to see if we could catch a few Redfish and Trout. From the first spot to the last we encountered many fish as the flats are started to get loaded up with bait fish (mullet). With the bright sunny skies and moderate winds, we were afforded many sight casting opportunites throughout the day.
Here, Rob dispalys a health Trout that he fooled with a Bass Assassin. Nice work Rob!

Lagoon Morning!
|
What a sweet morning on Mosquito Lagoon! The winds were light, the sky clear and the fish were biting! Today, we targeted some early morning Trout. The flat that I selected was teaming with life as the baitfish scurried everywhere to aviod being a meal for the hurgry Trout.
Marc, from Texas, displays a solid trout that was fooled by our presentation.
We rounded the day out with a few Redfish!
What a great morning....Marc, we'll do it again on your next visit! |

Mosquito Lagoon Redfish
|
With light winds from the Northwest predicted, we hit the waters of Mosquito Lagoon in search of Redfish. Upon leaving the comfort of Halover canal, we found the wind to be anything but "light". The early morning wind and cloud cover proved very difficult to spot our targets before the boat got up on them, but as the morning sun broke free and the wind subsided, it became a sightfishing dream. We had many opportunities at single cruising Redfish, as well as, several schools from 20 to 80 fish. Todd displays a beautiful 11lb. Redfish that he sight casted to! Great work Todd. So many fish...so little time...April is almost gone! Book your trip today!

Sunny Skies and Warm Temps!
|
Today we were blessed with some of the most perfect sight fishing conditions a fisherman could ask for! Light wind and sunny skies = being able to see lots of fish! Early this morning, we took advantage of some Big Trout that I had located earlier in the week. This solid 7lb Trout, smashed a chug bug, as well as several others in the 3 to 4 lb range,
We also managed to wrestle a few Redfish to the boat!
LOTS of other fish were spotted today, with out success. They'll be there for another day. Let's go get'em! 321-258-9015 |

Indian River Redfish!
|
While the conditions were not favorable...wind from the north at 15+, very overcast skies and not the clearest water. Shaun and Justin had a mission today....to catch fish! They were not to be disappointed! We started out catching Trout on topwater lures. Shaun really enjoyed the Trout smashing his new friend the "Chug Bug". As the morning progressed, we turned our attention to Redfish. The boyz were armed with Bass Assassins and covered every foot of water in front of the boat.
Justin was rewarded with this hearty, 30inch, 10 pound Redfish!
Lots of fish were caught in not so ideal conditions. I enjoyed it guys! We'll do it again soon.

Spring Break...Fun with the Kids!
|
The kids are out of school and what do they want to do?.....GO Fishing! So fishing we did go. Anytime that you take kids fishing, remember, it's about them having a good time, not necessarily catching a Trophy fish.
Today they had more fun with the puffers than anything else! Lauren holds one of the many that were landed today!
Sometimes it's even more fun to wade and adventure some away from Dad.
It's still nice to land that good ole reliable Redfish. Lauren dispalys her very first Redfish! Nice Job Lauren!
Take a Kid fishing and let them have fun!! |

Mosquito Lagoon Gator Trout and Redfish!!
|
The morning started off with the lowest of expectations, as the weather was predicted to be somewhat rainy and very windy from the northeast. Neither were in our favor to aid in accomplishing our mission of putting some Redfish and Trout in the boat.
On our first stop, we selected topwater lures to attrack some of the nice Trout that I have seen recently. Not long into the trip, Frank lands a solid 4lber that smashed the plug!
On our second stop, we bumped up several schools of slot sized Redfish, but could not get them to eat. Instead, Frank manages to boat this healthy 6lb. Gator Trout!
The rest of the day, the guys worked hard casting at Redfish after Redfish. They managed to bring several to the boat. Joe displays a tough fighter!
It was a Great Day on the water, with 2 quality anglers and really nice guys.

Gator Trout!
|
Yesterday, it was all about the Redfish. Today, while we saw our share (and even hooked up once) we could not get them to co-operate. Randolph was not to be denied! There are lots of big Trout out there right now and this one did not get away.
Nice Job, Randolph! A solid Gator Trout! 26inches, almost 6lbs.!

Indian River Redfish!!
|
Today, I got to fish the McIntire boys (Father and Son). The morning started off with high expectations as we were greeted to slick calm waters and the occasional tailing Redfish. While we did our best, the Redfish did not want our presentation. We were not to be defeated! After a slight location change, the wind picked up slightly from the south and the bite was ON!
Here is a shot of a 10lb. Redfish that gave a bull dog of a fight.
The McIntire's will be eating good tonight!

Mosquito Lagoon Redfish and Trout!!
|
The weather has really been co-operating as of late. Today we had light winds from the East and for the most part sunny skies. The Redfish are on the flats and so are the Gator Trout. We must have seen 30 different Trout between 4 and 8 lbs. These fish are very aware of their surroundings and are often seen but not caught. Not today!
A nice 4.5 lb Trout for the dinner table!
This 12lb. Redfish, did not want anything to do with the boat and put up quite an impressive fight.
The fish are out there! Let's go fishing! AT&T Wireless 321-258-9015 |

Trout and Hushpuppies Tonight!
|
While yesterday, was all about the Redfish, today they did not show up to play. The wind shift from the north, looks like it relocated all of the Redfish.
Instead, it made for a nice Speckled Trout bite. No dinks here! These were quality fish! Caught on both topwater and sub-searchface lures.
Here is the result of a topwater bait being worked properly in the early morning!
My new friends from Maryland will enjoy a tasty Trout dinner tonight! (Don't forget to try the cheese grits!)
Thanks for a Great Day on the water! Let's go fishing!! |

Mosquito Lagoon Redfish!
|
Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with 2 anglers from the Great North. Curt, from Minnesota and Rick, from Alaska. We were blessed with light winds and clear, sunny skys! All we needed were the Redfish. We were not disappointed as we came upon school after school, from 20 to 80 fish.
While these fish were quite spooky, the boyz, managed to fool a few into coming into the boat for a quick photo.
Thanks for a Great day on the water guys!

Redfish on the flats!
|
The Redfish are starting to show on the flats in singles and doubles. This makes for multiple opportunities throughout the day. The fish today were not eating the lures that we presented as well as we would have liked, but Eric managed to bring a couple of Redfish to the boat.
Nice Job Eric....one for the grill!

Nearshore Cobia Hunting
|
The wind finally laided down enough to allow me to get my 18 foot Action Craft flats boat out in the ocean to hunt for Cobia that are currently migrating along our coast, north to their summer homes.
We searched for a long time without any signs of our prey, when suddenly, up ahead, a huge manta ray appeared on the surface. A few well placed jigs out to the side of the ray and "Fish On!" While we had opportunities to throw at several other rays throughout the day, it would prove to be the only fish of the day.
The cobia are still out quite a bit and not free swiming much yet. The next couple of weeks should bring warmer water and the Cobia closer to shore. When the conditions are right this is an exciting time!

|
March Redfish and Trout
|
As the winds subside and the latest front pushes away, the water and the fishing heat up. The Redfish are becoming more and more active. They were somewhat picky on the last trip but still could not refuse a tasty live shrimp. We have also seen lots of Big Trout during the past few outings. Soon they will be roaming the shallow flats early and top water baits will be slammed!
The Big Redfish are starting the school up nicely. Now is the time to catch that trophy Redfish! |

|
Indian River Redfish
|
Redfish are on the prowl and the fishing is getting better everyday. The fish have begun to move out of the larger schools in their winter pattern and are now roaming the flats in singles, doubles and small groups.
Some have been reluctant to take artificials, but won't turn down a well placed live shrimp. March is filling up fast! Let's go fishing! 321-258-9015 |

Redfish are on the feed!
|
As the water temps start to climb, the Redfish become more and more active. Today we were able to find a school of the large breeders in the 20 -30 lb range. It's that time of the year went these schools will become a common event and catching a trophy Redfish is not uncommon. The smaller Redfish (5 to 10 lbs) are also becoming more abundant on the flats with numerous opportunities to catch them. I love this time of the year! Let's go fishing! 321-258-9015 |

Indian River Redfish and Trout

This is the time of the year that with each approaching front, I am sure it is the last and the weather and the fish will start to settle into a spring pattern.
We have found several good areas that larger trout are holding in and pockets of Redfish that have been there day after day. The water is already beginning to warm and the fish are loving it.

Big Speckled Trout
|
Today I was joined by father and son team Travis and Tom, from Vermont. While I was bundled up on the chilly ride to the first fishing spot of the day, Travis seemed to think it was rather pleasant! Imagine that!!
The day started off windy from the north with little signs of life. As the wind laid down and the sun came out, we started to see some large Speckled Trout. Travis was able to give his lure just the right action and landed this health 4 lb Trout.
Later we went after some Redfish and saw many in the 10+ pound range, but were unable to get them to play. All-in-all a great day on the water, with 2 really good men. Thanks guys! Let's go fishing!! 321-258-9015 |

The Fishing is Heating up here in Florida!!
|
It's that time of year when it may be cold, cold in some parts of the country. But, here is Florida, the temps are warming up and so is the fishing! As the last of the cold fronts depart, the Redfish and Trout are really enjoying the warming suns rays. Everyone comes to Florida for Spring Break for a reason! There is lots to do and it isn't freezing!! If you like to Fish...the fishing is awesome this time of year.

January Redfish
|
Today, I fished Dave from Viera. We were in search of the World famous "Redfish". Dave was not to be disappointed, as we had several shots at our target. The water temperatures are much colder and the Redfish have gone into their winter pattern, grouping up and staying in a small area. Here is one of the fish from today's trip |

Sugar and Spice and...REDFISH!
|
Today was a beautiful day on the water! I was asked to help in a dual boat charter by Capt. Todd Fuller. While Todd took care of the Fly fishing end of it. I had the real fun, fishing with Megan and Lilly, 9 and 6 years old respectively. We really had a good time, checking out all of the sea life, such as, stingrays, horseshoe crabs and shrimp. But of course, the hightlight was catching fish!! It was such fun watching these girls reeling them in!
Megan holds an 8 lb Redfish that she landed. She is now famous and has a memory!
Thanks girls, it was a fun day on the water! |

Redfish Country!!

All I have to say is "The Redfish are chewin!!" It did not matter what we threw at them today....they ate it. The water levels are high from all of the recent rains and the fish are loving it. These fish are foraging close the the mangroves and shore lines.
Here's a nice fat Redfish from today!!

Sight Casting Perfection
|
Today I was joined by Mark of Orlando. Mark and I have fished together several times, but it has been a while. The light winds and full sun promised to be a great day for sight casting. We were not to be disappointed! We had opportunities at Redfish, Snook and Tarpon that were mere feet away from the boat and most times, no clue that we were there.
Mark holds an aggresive Redfish that we got to watch inhale the bait right in front of us.
We had many, many opportunities and it was a fabulous day on the water with a really nice guy. Thanks Mark, we'll do it again soon. |

Indian River Redfish
|
I get the pleasure 2 or 3 times a year to fish with friend and regular client Andy from the UK. On this trip he was accompanied by his brother. It was a very cloudy and over cast day and we made the best of it. First thing in the morning we took full advantage of the early morning Trout bite, with Andy and his bro reeling in Trout, on seemingly every cast.
We then went to see if we could get Andy's brother his first ever Redfish. Here is a shot of one happy fisherman! (He hadn't fish in 30years)
Andy with a Redfish of his own!
I really enjoyed it guys...see in late December. |

Sept 15th - Trout and Redfish
|
Fished with my regular fishing buddy Colton (my son) and his friend John. Both boys were excited and woke easily with the hopes of catching lots of fish. They were not to be disappointed! We started the day off catching Trout after Trout with some quality fish coming to the boat.
Here, John and Colton display a couple of fish from the early morning bite.
Later in the morning we turned our attention to Redfish and the boys caught their share of these hard fighters.
Back at the dock by 11am! Thanks guys, we will do it again soon! |

Sept 12th - Mosquito Lagoon Redfish
|
Today, regular client, Adam of Melbourne wanted to catch some Redfish in Mosquito Lagoon. The morning started off great with slick calm conditions and hopes of Tailing Reds! While we did see some tailers, they were very spooky and did not want our offerings. We managed to sneek up on several small schools of 20 or so fish.
Adam displays one of the Redfish from the schools that we lured to the boat.
While we threw many different lures at the fish today, the combination that worked over and over was a Rip Tide "Jerk Worm" rigged on a Daiichi "Butt Dragger" hook. The fish are here...let's go catch'em!! |

Girls Day Out!!
|
Today, I enjoyed the company of 2 "Viera Lightning" Cheerleaders. These girls were full of energy (even at 6:30am). We had a lot of fun catching many speedy, hard fighting Ladyfish in the morning and later boated several Redfish. Back at the ramp by 11:30am, before it got too hot. Hana May and Kayla perform the Redfish dance to bring the fish into the boat! (It Worked!)
May with her first Redfish!
Kayla holds a redfish of her own!
What a wonderful morning! Let's do it again soon ladies! |

Hot Temps and Hot Fishing!
|
Today we decided to "Fish the Docks"! During the heat of the summer, fish like to get under docks to relax in the few degrees cooler water. I like to gather some prime size live bait and pitch them under docks to see if I can pull some of these residence out . It usually results in some explosive action and close quarters combat with fish that don't want to come out to play.
A 20lb Tarpon that was waiting for a easy meal under a dock.
We caught/hung a variety of species, to include, Tarpon, Snook, Goliath Grouper, Mangrove Snapper and Jacks. Great Action!! |

Indian River Summer!
|
I can't begin to tell you how lucky I am to live close enough to the Indian River Lagoon System, to be able to fish it most eveyday. Today, my fishing partner was my 7 years old son Colton. He really loves fishing (imagine that!) and I try to take him as often as possible.
We started off the morning getting our top water bait (chug bug and super spook) slammmed countless times by Ladyfish and Trout. After a couple of hours of that steady action we decided to look for a Redfish. It didn't take long, as our first stop produced a Fat 12lber that Colton battle to the boat for a quick photo and release.
Back at the dock and eatting lunch at Apple Bees by 11:30pm....not a bad way to start the day! |

June 27 - Redfish and Snook
|
I had the pleasure of spending the day on the boat with Jeff and his son Taylor. The Taylor family was here in Florida for a well deserved vacation, and the boys and I went fishing. Other than a little more wind than we would have liked the weather was beautiful! Unfortunately, the fish didn't see it that way and time after time refused to eat our offerings. With a "never say die" attitude we finally found some fish that were willing to play.
Taylor holds a nice Redfish that put on quite a show as it attemped 3 to 4 times, to eat our live mullet on the surface within 10 feet of the boat.
We also missed several opportunities at Snook around mangroves and docks...oh well that's fishing! Thanks guys....I enjoyed the day!! |

June 21st - Off the Beach
|
Light winds and calm seas were just too tempting...so Off the Beach we went. This time of the year, within a few miles off the beach there roam many predator fish, Tarpon, Kingfish, Cobia, Sharks and Barracuda...all fun to catch. After netting a live well full of bait we slow trolled them in the most likely places and they did not disappoint us!
Cory displays a super fast and strong, 15lb Tuna (Skip Jack)! Man, did this one rip some line.
This healthy 12lb King Mackeral was one of many that made our drags screeeem!
Even got to play with this Black Tip Shark!
A great day on the water! Let's go fishing! 321-258-9015 |

June 15th - Cocoa Beach - Redfish!
|
John, from Orlando, joined me today in search of Redfish. For years John has fished for Bass in freshwater, but has had little or no experience in the salty stuff. He was truley amazed at the amount of life in our estuary and the strength of Redfish!
John with a healthy 7lb Redfish....not to bad for his first!!
It was a Great day on the water and I really enjoyed the company! We will do it again soon, John. |

June 10th - Young Anglers Rule!
|
The future of fishing is our children. If we help educate and take them fishing where they will have fun, in return we gain the next protectors of the fisheries (where ever they end up). Today was a true joy, as I got the pleasure of seeing kids faces light up when they were able to bring a nice Redfish or Trout to the side of the boat.
JD Harding, of Viera with his first Redfish! What a battle it was!
Colton, of Rockledge, with his biggest Trout ever!
It was a beautiful day, and I really enjoyed the company! |

June 9th - Summer Redfish
|
Today, I fished with Pat from Merritt Island, along with Sherry and Ryan (son) from Delaware. We started off rather slow, looking for the morning Speckled Trout bite that left us disappointed. Sooo...we turn our attention to Redfish! Everyone got in on the action. Below are a few pictures of the day.
Ryan started things off with this healthy 11lber!
Not to be out done, Pat and Sherry landed Redfish of their own.
The ladies even managed a double! Great work ladies!
The fishing is really hot....let's go fishing! |

Summer is Here!
|
Some might call it the dog days of summer but I see it as, The days of calm winds tailing Redfish! Today I fished with regular, Cory of Orlando. As you will see below, the water was slick calm most of the day resulting in many sighted Redfish and Trout and our share brought to the boat.
Cory doing battle!

May 26th - Indian River Redfish
|
Even though the wind blew 20 mph today...we still caught fish! I fished with Greg, an accomplished hunter and fisherman from Colorado, his son Jake and Grandpa. We stayed sheltered from the wind and with a combination of artifical and natural bait, these Rocky Mountain men managed a variety of fish, including Snook, Trout and Redfish.
Here Jake displays a health Red that he fought hard to keep out of the dock!
Grandpa, with a beautiful muliti-spot Redfish!
It was a Great Day on the water shared with some fine sportsman! |

May 20th - Mosquito Lagoon Redfishing
|
Today, the BUZAK family joined me for a day of fishing for Reds in Mosquito Lagoon. With the recent front, the wind blew hard from the North East and continued to do so this morning. This low pressure system moved the Reds off the flats they had been foraging on last week.
Big Ben BUZAK was able to fool a Redfish into eating his gold spoon!
A beautiful day on the water, as Dad and Ben search for Redfish.
The water levels have really risen and the fish are loving it. Let's go fishing!! |

|
Grand Slam....Almost
|
Here in Florida, if you catch a Redfish, Trout, and a Snook all in the same trip it is called an Inshore Slam. If you can add a Tarpon to that it is called a Grand Slam. Today, while fishing with Chris, from Georgia, we landed Tarpon, Trout and Snook. While we gave it a good try, we were not able to put a Redfish in the boat.
Here is Chris with some of today's catch!
There is baitfish everywhere on the flats and as you can see, a variety of fish are feeding on them. |
|
|
|
May 5th - Banana River, Redfish and Trout
|
Today I fished with Matt from Merritt Island. Matt, not only is a super angler, but alot of fun to fish with. We focused our attention on the wads of baitfish that are stacking up on the flats. We threw topwater plugs early, in and around these and were rewarded with several Trout up to 4 lbs. The Redfish were not as active as they have been of late, probably due to the full moon. Matt was able to get this beautiful (9 spot) Redfish to take his offering.
The winds are laying down in the mornings and the fish are active. LET'S GO FISHING! |

Fishing the Docks!
|
Today I shared the boat with James and Cindy Smith. They were visiting Florida to do some fishing! They took a charter for Redfish in Mosquito Lagoon on Monday and fished for Snook at Port Canaveral Monday night.
So, today I suggested that we do something different. We traveled south and fished docks! We were primarily targeting Snook, but were greeted with many other species such as Jacks, Mangrove Snapper, Tarpon and even Goliath Grouper.
James and Cindy with a hard fighting Jack Crevale!
Cindy with a quality Snook (one of the one's that we didn't break us off!)
Another hard fighing 8 lb Jack1
One of the fat Mangrove Snapper that took our offering.
A Great Day on the water with two really quality people. James and Cindy, you are welcome back anytime! |

April 18th - Indian River Trout
|
I had the pleasure of fishing with Brian and Eric of New Jersy. Not only were these guys fun to be around, they also have a passion for fishing that I haven't seen in sometime. We got on the water early in search of Big Trout! I have been seeing quite a few Big girls roaming the shallows on recent trips. Todays tactic was the set up a good drift and make long casts, with the wind, using Top Water plugs. What a great morning on the water!
Brian holds the results of a solid 4 lber that we landed. |

April 11th - Indian River Redfish
|
Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with a father son team of Mike and Darren Suto from California. They came a long way to catch a Redfish and were not to be disappointed.
Darren with a nice upper slot Redfish! Good casting Darren!
Dad was not to be denied! A fat Redfish of his own! |
|
|
|
Snook Time!
|
Over the past few weeks, I have been seeing more and more Snook active around docks where I have been targeting Redfish. I decided it was time to head south and see if we couldn't find some that wanted to play. Cory, from Orlando, got a taste of what it can be like....from getting your clock cleaned and broken hearted..... to landing a fatty!

March 27 - Best Buddies Fishing
|
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with my most favorite fishing partner, my 6 year old son, Colton. He has become quite a good angler and his casting is getting better and better all the time. The goal today was for Colton to sight cast to his first Redfish. While his casting has limited him in the past, I feel that he is now ready to take on the challenge.
After several missed opportunities, Colton became very focused (very hard to do as a 6 year old).
The end result was a happy young angler! He didn't actually sight cast to this one but was thrilled, just the same.

March 19th - Indian River Redfish
|
Today started off 53 degrees, cloudy and the wind blowing from the Northeast at 12. Not the ideal Redfish weather. (Don't tell them!) I was fishing with Mike from Ohio. He thought it was beautiful weather! We found the school that we were looking for and Mike proceeded to put fish after fish in the boat. (When he wasn't breaking them off!) Pretty good casting for a Bass fisherman!
Mike with a solid 13lber!
A little 4.5 lber that was hungery!
A 12lber to end the day! Great job Mike! |

March 15 - WINDY! Mosquito Lagoon Redfish
|
Enjoyed the company of a Wyoming outdoorsman today! This guy has done things and been places we all dream of! Although, the windy conditions made it really tough, I was able to give him a taste of saltwater fishing in the Indian river and Mosquito lagoon. We boated a few Trout in the morning on top water and ended the day with a solid 5.5 pound Redfish that did not want to come to the boat.
Bob Howell used a gold spoon to triump over the illusive Redfish today! Great Job Bob!! |

March 11 - Indian River Redfish
|
The pressure was on, as angelrs from Texas joined me today. We all know that they have a great fishery management program there. While the morning started off slow with some very dense fog and very little action, Frank and Gary were not to be disappointed. We settled in on a school of 100 Redfish that were cooperative.
Here are a couple of 12 and 13lbers that they brought to the boat.
The fishing is getting HOT! Let's go fishing! 321-258-9015 |

Febuary 21st - Mosquito Lagoon Redfish

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Dale and Richard. They were part of a group of guys that come to fish the saltwater a couple time a year. We tried to get on some Big Fish, but they did not want to eat today....next time guys!
Dale with a nice Redfish that he caught on a Bass Assassin.
Richard with a respectable Redfish of his own.

Febuary 19th - Indian River Redfish
|
Today started out COLD!! (35 degrees at 6:30am) I had the pleaseure of fishing with 2 very good young anglers from Alabama.
We started the day off looking for a trout bite and landed this solid 4lb Speckled Trout.
Soon after, we started prowling for Redfish. These guys were GREAT with a Fly Rod and landed a quality fish on FLY.
We saw schools of Redfish near the hundreds but pale in comparison to the BIG REDFISH that we found. My boys hooked up 2 of these brutes, at the same time, but we only managed to bring one to the boat.
Looks like the last of the cold fronts are coming through and the fishing is about to really heat up. Give me a call and let's get out there! 321-258-9015 |

Febuary 8th - Boys from the North
|
Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with a couple of anglers from the New England area. They love their fishing! No ICE Fishing for me please! While it was cold (45 degrees) and windy on the main river, we ducked into a wind protected area and enjoyed some of the Florida sunshine while they caught a dozen or so Trout.
We even landed a small, fiesty Redfish to end the day. |

Febuary 7th - Cocoa Beach Sightfishing
|
The conditions today were absolutely "made to order"! Cool morning (45 degrees), calm winds, no clouds and ultra clear water.
I fished with John from PA., as he wanted one more day before heading back north. While the chances were many, the fishing proved to be tough, but John would not give up and was rewarded with this spirited Redfish.
It warmed up to 75 degress and we had a Great day on the water! |

Febuary 4th - Backcountry Redfish
|
As I woke and checked the weather, today was not the day that I would have chosen to go fishing. Winds were 17mph out of the North with gusts to 23mph. I was just hoping that the fish had not listened to the weather report.
Our first stop proved this to be true, as the Speckled Trout were thick. John, from PA., was my fishing partner for the day and had a blast catching one after another.

To avoid the wind, we ventured into the backcountry in search of Redfish. We were not disappointed! Here is John with a healthy backcountry Redfish!

John, with another hard fighting Redfish! This one was 30” and weighted 9lbs.

January 31 - Sight Fishing for Redfish
|
Today a had the pleasure of fishing with a fellow guide, Capt. Todd Fuller. I wanted Todd to experience some back country sight casting for Redfish, so I took him to the Cocoa beach area. It has been cold (for Florida) the past few nights with temps dipping in to the upper 30's. The water temps have dropped 12-15 degrees in 2 days. This did not stop the Redfish from coming out to play.
What a beautiful play ground we had today!!
Todd with a healthy Redfish!!
A fatty that Capt. Tim persuaded to the boat!
What a great few hours on the water! |

January 24th - Weatherman gets it wrong!!
|
Today's forecast called for light winds, 5-10 from the north. We anticipated a calm morning, but it was far from it. The wind was ripping from the moment we left the ramp. We managed to get on 2 nice schools of Redfish and hooked up once. We ended the day by ducking into a canal and finding some Black Drum that were hungry. While small, these fish were fiesty and Adam caught one after another. Great way to end a tough day!

January 15th - Lagoon Redfish
|
This morning, as we arrived at our first spot, we were greeted by slick clam waters and schools of tailing Redfish. Rob and Bob (my fishing partners for the day) were stoked!! I don't think they have seen this in Oregon.
Here is a shot of Rob's 9lb. Redfish that he pulled from one of the schools.
We were on schools of fish from 50 to 100 fish. It was a great day on the water with 2 really great guys. |

January 12th - Indian River Trout
|
What a beautiful morning!! On the water at 7am, greeted by light winds, clear skies and 67 degrees. What a difference from 2 days ago! (see last report) We came into a solid Trout bite early, with fish ranging from 2 to 3 lbs.
As the sun rose, we found Redfish from 4 to 8 lbs. holding up in the sand holes, waiting for a easy meal. Man, I love my office!! |

Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Mark and his son Riley. Both are very good anglers and despite the windy conditions were able to make really good casts that landed fish. Here are few pictures of the day.

Mark with a healthy Redfish.
Riley with a Redfish of his own. Despite the conditions, it was a great day on the water. Let's go fishing!! 321-258-9015 |
